FAQs

Q. Where is the Venue?

Temple Church can be found just off Victoria Street and Temple Street in Bristol city centre - look for the iron gate next door to The King's Head pub.

Address: Victoria St, Redcliffe, Bristol, BS1 6HS

On arrival, please follow signs to the box office (located through the metal gate and down the lane) to check in. Members of the company will be wearing high-vis vests.

Q. How do I get there?

By car / bike: Via Victoria Street/Temple Street. Bike parking is available on Victoria Street and many surrounding locations nearby.

By train: nearest train station is Bristol Temple Meads, 0.4 miles from the church entrance.

By bus: services 1, 2, 2a, 39, 71, 72, 172, 349, 374, 375, 376, 376a and 522 buses stop right next to Temple Church on Victoria Street (R6 stop) - from there it is a 120yd journey to the church entrance.

Q. Is there Parking?

There is extremely limited pay and display parking on Victoria Street/Temple Street/Church Lane.

There are a number of car parks available in the streets surrounding the park but we strongly encourage all audience members to consider alternate modes of transport.

Temple Church is also located in Bristol City Council's Clean Air Zone (CAZ) and you will need to check if your vehicle is compliant or you need to pay a fee

Q. What should I wear?

This is an outdoor performance with no cover - please dress with the weather in mind and bring raincoats and sunglasses as appropriate, and bring an extra layer for when the sun goes down - it can get quite chilly!

Q. What facilities are available?

Portable toilets are available on site. On selected dates there is a bar serving cold refreshments. Cold soft drinks are available from our merchandise stall.

Please note queues can be long and we will not hold a performance start time due to these.

Q. What if I'm late?

Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time before your show (at least 15 minutes before) to enjoy the surroundings, grab refreshments and pop to the loo.

Latecomers will be permitted at a suitable point in the performance.

In the event of unavoidable lateness, (e.g. extreme traffic jam) and if possible, we will transfer your tickets to the next available performance (subject to availability and company discretion).

Q. What if it rains?

This is an open air production and will go ahead even in the case of bad weather, unless we deem the performance route unsafe or if there is a threat to life.

Q. Can I bring drinks & snacks?

Drinks in sealed containers or with lids may be taken into the performance. Please avoid eating during the show. Alcohol is prohibited unless purchased from the on-site bar. When the bar is not running, alcohol may be permitted. Insane Root reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone who is deemed too intoxicated to attend.

Q. What about babes-in-arms?

Babes-in-arms are welcome to attend, and there is no charge for their entry. Please note, the Church has limited space and has no buggy storage.

HEALTH & SAFETY

The health and safety of our audiences and team members is our highest priority. Stewards will be on hand to ensure safety around the site. First aid trained staff will be available on site throughout the performance.

We ask all audience members to take care when moving around the site in case of trip hazards.

All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

ADVERSE WEATHER

Henry V at Temple Church is an open air, seated performance without cover for either the staging or the audience. The performances are designed to go on in inclement weather. We recommend that our audiences come prepared for all eventualities of a British Summer. Please avoid using umbrellas during the performance.

We will not cancel a performance due to weather unless we deem it unsafe for either audiences or performers to continue and we will never cancel a show before the advertised start time - this is because you'd be amazed how often it can rain all day and then clear up in time for a show. If the weather is considered not to pose risk to either performers or audience the show will go on.

If the weather does pose a risk to performers or audience, a decision will be made by the Stage Manager, Producer and Venue Manager to cancel the show. We will arrange a transfer of your tickets to the next available performance.

CANCELLATIONS & EXCHANGES

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable except in certain specific circumstances.

If you need to change your tickets more than a week prior to your performance date, we will transfer them to a suitable alternative of the same ticket value (subject to availability). No refund will be offered should you choose not to attend.

Tickets cannot be exchanged with less than a week's notice, please therefore check your booking confirmation carefully!

In the event of a cancelled performance (prior to the performance time) we will transfer your ticket to an available performance, or provide a full refund.

If a show has to be cancelled mid-performance we will try our best to exchange tickets, but this is subject to availability, or provide free access to our professionally filmed performance.

All refunds and exchanges are subject to availability. An admin charge may be incurred at the company's discretion..
