On arrival, please follow signs to the box office (located opposite the pool) to check in. Members of the company will be wearing high-vis vests.

Q. How do I get there?

By car / bike: Via Fishponds Road. Bike parking is available at the top car park.

By train: nearest train station is Stapleton Road, 1 mile from the pool entrance.

By bus: services 48, 48a and 49 buses from Bristol City Centre stop right next to the Park on Fishponds Road (take the "Royate Hill" stop) - from there it is a 0.2 mile journey to the pool entrance.

Q. Is there Parking?

There is extremely limited free parking at the top end of the park (Park Avenue), and this cannot be pre-booked. If you are a blue-badge holder, please contact the company for support.

There is on-street parking available in the streets surrounding the park but we strongly encourage all audience members to consider alternate modes of transport so as not to disrupt the local residents.

Q. What should I wear?

This is an outdoor performance with no cover - please dress with the weather in mind and bring raincoats and sunglasses as appropriate, and bring an extra layer for when the sun goes down - it can get quite chilly!

Q. What facilities are available?

Toilets are available on site. On selected dates there is a bar serving cold refreshments. Cold soft drinks are available from our merchandise stall.

Please note queues can be long and we will not hold a performance start time due to these.

Q. What if I'm late?

Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time before your show (at least 15 minutes before) to enjoy the surroundings, grab refreshments and pop to the loo.

Latecomers will be permitted at a suitable point in the performance.

In the event of unavoidable lateness, (e.g. extreme traffic jam) and if possible, we will transfer your tickets to the next available performance (subject to availability and company discretion).

Q. What if it rains?

This is an open air production and will go ahead even in the case of bad weather, unless we deem the performance route unsafe or if there is a threat to life.

Q. Can I bring drinks & snacks?

Drinks in sealed containers or with lids may be taken into the performance. Please avoid eating during the show. Alcohol is prohibited unless purchased from the on-site bar. When the bar is not running, alcohol may be permitted. Insane Root reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone who is deemed too intoxicated to attend.

Q. What about babes-in-arms?

Babes-in-arms are welcome to attend, and there is no charge for their entry. Please note, the pool has limited space and no buggy storage.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • The health and safety of our audiences and team members is our highest priority. Stewards will be on hand to ensure safety around the site. First aid trained staff will be available on site throughout the performance. â€‹

  • We ask all audience members to take care when moving around the site in case of trip hazards. We will be lighting key areas at the performance venue, but some of the park's paths can be very dark at night. We recommend bringing personal torches for the journey out.

  • All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

ADVERSE WEATHER

  • A Midsummer Night's Dream is an open air, seated performance without cover for either the staging or the audience. The performances are designed to go on in inclement weather. We recommend that our audiences come prepared for all eventualities of a British Summer. Please avoid using umbrellas during the performance.

  • We will not cancel a performance due to weather unless we deem it unsafe for either audiences or performers to continue and we will never cancel a show before the advertised start time - this is because you'd be amazed how often it can rain all day and then clear up in time for a show. If the weather is considered not to pose risk to either performers or audience the show will go on.

  • If the weather does pose a risk to performers or audience, a decision will be made the Stage Manager, Producer and Duty Manager to cancel the show. We will arrange a transfer of your tickets to the next available performance.

CANCELLATIONS & EXCHANGES

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable except in certain specific circumstances.

  • If you need to change your tickets more than a week prior to your performance date, we will transfer them to a suitable alternative of the same ticket value (subject to availability). No refund will be offered should you choose not to attend.

  • If you need to cancel your ticket due to COVID-19 at any time we will arrange the transfer of your tickets to the next available performance. Proof of a positive test / isolation instruction will be requested.

  • Tickets cannot be exchanged with less than a week's notice, please therefore check your booking confirmation carefully!

  • In the event of a cancelled performance (prior to the performance time) we will transfer your ticket to an available performance, or provide a full refund. Please note this does not apply to government imposed lockdowns due to COVID-19.

  • If a show has to be cancelled mid-performance we will try our best to exchange tickets, but this is subject to availability, or provide free access to our professionally filmed performance.

  • All refunds and exchanges are subject to availability. An admin charge may be incurred at the company's discretion.
