Romeo & Juliet in Eastville Park Swimming Pool
FAQ & Pre-Arrival Information
We can't wait to welcome you to our brand new adaptation of 'Romeo & Juliet'! To ensure you have the best experience possible, here's a reminder of some important information to be aware of before you come along....please share it with all members of your party!

GETTING HERE
Eastville Park is a large Victorian park with a range of facilities 2 miles north-east of Bristol city centre. It is a great place to relax surrounded by a spacious and diverse landscape. There is a large ornamental lake, tennis courts, bowling greens, children's play area, woodlands and wild flower meadows. It connects via the lovely Frome Valley Walkway, to Snuff Mills and Oldbury Court Estate. It is the reason why many people choose to live in Fishponds.
The Swimming Pool is located on the North East side, next to the play park and a short walk from Royate Hill Bus Stop, which is served by the number 48, 48a and 49a buses from the city centre. The journey takes approx. 20 mins by bus. Free parking is available in the surrounding streets, but we request that you are respectful of the residents living nearby and avoid driving in favour of other transport options wherever possible.

ON ARRIVAL
Please head straight to our Box Office, located in the field opposite the swimming pool and next to our bar area, to check in. You will need your booking reference or booking name. If claiming residents' tickets please remember to bring proof of address.

We recommend that you arrive no less than 15 minutes before the show to check in. The Box Office will be open 30 minutes before each show.

FACILITIES
Our friends at Team Love have provided a pop-up bar to complement the
performance: the 'Star Crossed Lovers', this will be open for refreshments until around 9pm and makes the perfect accompaniment to a summer picnic. You may take drinks into the performance but we request that all rubbish is removed and that you do not eat during the show as it can be very distracting for performers and other audience members alike.

Audience toilets can be found next to the bar area.

GETTING TO THE PERFORMANCE
A few minutes before the performance start time you will be guided to the Gates of Verona by our stewards and FOH staff to receive a final briefing about the show. Please note, the journey from the bar to the performance space is over uneven grass.
Running time is approximately 100 minutes and there is no interval.

ACCESS & SEATING
Once inside Verona you can move about freely and find a place to stand or sit if and when available. You may also wish to bring a cushion to sit on and layers for warmth - especially for the 8:30pm performance as it gets chilly after sundown.
The majority of the performance space is accessible to those with walking difficulties or who need to make use of a wheelchair, although some of the paving is uneven and we advise all audience members to watch their step while on site.
At certain points we may need to move you out of the way, but this is only for your own safety. Once we have done so, however, you are free to move again if you so desire.
Should you require assistance to access the performance site, including blue badge parking, please contact the company in advance so we can make your experience as smooth as possible: info@insaneroot.co.uk
THE WEATHER
Ah, the Great British Summer - we love it, and all its unpredictability. Some shows will inevitably be affected by rain, but we will never cancel a show in advance of the stated performance time due to weather. Even on days when it has been raining consistently it can quickly clear up in time for a performance, and weather can be surprisingly localised.

This is an open-air production and while we are often lucky to experience balmy summer evenings, please note that once the sun drops it can get a bit chilly, especially if you choose to sit on stone steps. We recommend bringing a jacket, or even blanket, with you if you are attending the later performance.

A FEW HOUSE RULES
We kindly request that audience members do not bring umbrellas as it can obscure the view and create sound issues during the show - raincoats are permitted, and emergency ponchos can be purchased from Box Office.
Smoking is not permitted on-site.

No latecomers, sorry! We will wait as long as possible to ensure that everyone expected to attend has been able to arrive, but there is no latecomers point once the show has begun. If you are running late and able to email us: info@insaneroot.co.uk we will do our best to accommodate you. Due to the nature of the space, there is also no re-admittance should you need to leave once the performance has started.
Photography - or recording of any kind - is not permitted during the performance.
