GETTING HERE

Venue address: The New Room, John Wesley's Chapel, The Horsefair, Bristol, BS1 3JE. Please use the Visitor Centre entrance - opposite Primark and next to The Arcade.

The New Room is located in the heart of Broadmead, also known as Bristol Shopping Quarter, which has a postcode of BS1 3DX. There are excellent road links from the M5, M4 and M32 into Broadmead and over 10,000 parking spaces within easy walking distance of the New Room.

The nearest car park is The Galleries Bristol which has the postcode BS1 3DQ: www.galleriesbristol.co.uk/get-in/ . Alternatively, the next nearest car park is Cabot Circus Bristol which has the postcode BS2 9AB:

www.cabotcircus.com/visitor-info/parking. Once parked, please follow the finger signs for The New Room/John Wesley's Chapel.

The venue is well served by public transport and you can take any bus to Broadmead to reach us. From Bristol Temple Meads take a no. 8 or 9 bus. There is a taxi rank located on the Horsefair outside Marks & Spencer.

ON ARRIVAL

Please head straight to our Box Office, located in the Visitor Centre foyer, to check in. You will need your booking reference or booking name. We kindly request that groups wait for all parties to arrive before checking in.

We recommend that you arrive no less than 15 minutes before the show to check in. The Box Office will be open 30 minutes before each show.

FACILITIES

The Visitor Centre has toilets located on the 1st floor, accessible by lift. Please note, the cafe will not be open so we recommend popping to a nearby pub or restaurant for pre- and post- show drinks. Some of our favourites include The Strawberry Thief (6 min walk), The Christmas Steps (7 min walk) and the Bank Tavern (5 min walk)

We will have a small range of merchandise available to pre-order or purchase: this includes CD soundtracks of our previous shows, programmes and clothing. We can accept card payments, but cash is preferred.

CARDS FOR GOOD CAUSES

Insane Root is delighted to partner with 'Cards for Good Causes', which raises money for charity through selling Christmas Cards. These will be available in the foyer before the performance - please bring cash only.

THE PERFORMANCE

The bulk of the performance will take place in the Chapel - you will be invited to enter at a specific moment and prior to this will be able to wait in the foyer, which has some seating. At the end of the show you will leave through a different exit and will not return to the foyer.

Running time is approximately 70 minutes and there is no interval.

ACCESS & SEATING

Once inside the Chapel you will be guided to seating areas around the space. Seating is in the form of benches, chairs and pews.

Due to the nature of the Grade I listed architecture, your view of parts of the performance may be obscured at times - please feel free to move/shift to improve your experience.

Please take care when walking through the performance space as the lighting levels will be low and the floor is occasionally uneven. We request and recommend that audience members wear comfortable, non-marking shoes to ensure their comfort and prevent any damage to the building. Access to and from the building includes travelling over uneven cobbles.

BAGS & BELONGINGS

There is no cloakroom available on site, so any bags or belongings being brought into the venue must stay with you; these can be tucked under your seat once you are in the performance space, but we strongly recommend leaving large items at home!

A FEW HOUSE RULES

Smoking is not permitted, and we request that no alcohol is brought into the venue or food consumed during the performance.

No latecomers, sorry! We will wait as long as possible to ensure that everyone expected to attend has been able to arrive, but there is no latecomers point once the audience have entered the chapel. If you are running late and able to email us: info@insaneroot.co.uk we will do our best to accommodate you. Due to the nature of the space, there is also no re-admittance should you need to leave once the performance has started.

Photography - or recording of any kind - is not permitted during the performance.
